Seat Availability

The Whitechapel Library provides a mixture of fixed PCs and tables with power. 

The Basement Group Study room is an discussion zone to work collaboratively, maximum of 6 users.

The Meeting Pod is an induvial quiet study (main purpose online meetings or work quietly in groups of maximum 4)

The Meeting Pod is bookable after 17:00 but if not used by staff before 17:00 students can use the pod without a booking and could be asked to leave at any time. 

In some areas of the Library, you need to book a study space. Information on how to book a study space can be found here. You need to check-in within 30minutes of the booking start time otherwise your space will be released for others to book. 

The booked study spaces are available for current students and staff only. There is a mixture of individual and group study areas. The group study areas and the basement are available as non-bookable.

We have a Flexible Booking system, which means we match available slots each week to the demand (before 5pm if not used by staff, students are welcome to use it without a booking but may be asked to leave if needed by staff)

Students and staff can book up to 14hrs in a single booking but can make multiple bookings, if needed. Bookings can be made in advance or on arrival. Please check-out to free up any unused time for other students.

If you find someone is accidentally sitting in your booked seat, feel free to approach them to explain and please speak to staff at the Welcome Desk for assistance, if needed.
