SPSS 2: Basic Data Analysis in SPSS Online
This workshop is primarily aimed at students who will be using SPSS as part of their dissertation. It directly follows on from another workshop in this series entitled SPSS 1: An Introduction to SPSS. It is strongly recommended you attend that workshop too, though this is not mandatory.
In this workshop we will:
• Very briefly review what was covered in the Introduction to SPSS session.
• Discuss the normal distribution.
• See how to generate descriptive statistics in SPSS, including tests for normality.
• See how to perform certain hypothesis tests in SPSS, such as a t-test.
The workshop will run online over Microsoft Teams. To get the most out of it you are encouraged to have SPSS running on your machine so that you can follow along with the activities, though this is not mandatory. To access SPSS on your own PC/laptop please email the IT Service Desk at servicedesk@qmul.ac.uk.
