DESCRIPTION:
This course will take you through the process of literature searching for systematic reviews in medicine, dentistry and related disciplines. It comprises online learning (via QMplus) and a live workshop session.

Ideal for Research postgraduates or staff particularly in FMD
At the end of this course you should be able to:
- Understand what a systematic review is and the process involved
- Prepare and plan your review
- Construct a focused research question using the PICO framework, or similar
- Identify appropriate search terms based on your research question
- Design a comprehensive search strategy and perform effective searches on key databases
- Identify other appropriate sources to ensure you find all the best available evidence
PREPARATION:
Please self-enrol for the QMplus course area at https://qmplus.qmul.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=19028. Please allow two hours to complete the online learning before attending the live session. The live session will enable you to get feedback on your keywords, try out and get feedback on database searches, and ask any questions.
